OUR COMMITMENT:

At Resident, sustainability isn’t just a buzzword - it’s a fundamental part of our ethos. We’ve woven sustainable practices into every aspect of our business model, striving to shrink our carbon footprint and tackle food waste head-on.

Rather than building new restaurants or pop-up eateries, Resident partners with luxury properties to use underutilized skyrise and penthouse apartments, chef demonstration kitchens, and members-only clubs as the backdrop of our culinary events. Each event is built from scratch, specifically for every unique group; therefore, we purchase and staff precisely, almost entirely eliminating food, drink, and labor waste. Notably, several of our partner properties including One Manhattan Square, Club 75, and 77 Greenwich are LEED-certified buildings.

But our commitment doesn't stop there. We're actively forging partnerships with organizations that champion sustainable food practices. Rethink Food is our featured sustainability partner for specific brand activations.

Rethink Food is a nonprofit organization based in New York City with the mission of creating a more sustainable and equitable food system. In partnership with a national network of restaurants, food purveyors, and community-based organizations, the nonprofit has provided over 15 million meals to communities facing food insecurity and directed over 50 million dollars to small local restaurants to support meal preparation since 2017.

In addition to its restaurant meal program, Rethink Food receives over half a million pounds of donated excess food every year, converted into 10,000+ meals a week in its Sustainable Commissary Kitchen.
