JAMES BEARD HOUSE

167 WEST 12TH STREET, NEW YORK, NY 10011

This West Village townhouse was the final residence of James Beard, the iconic cookbook author and personality often referred to as the "Dean of American Cookery." Before his death in 1985, Beard welcomed students into his kitchen for classes at the James Beard Cooking School, and hosted luminaries like Julia Child and Jacques Pepin. After his passing, the house became the home of the James Beard Foundation, as well as a performance space for chefs to showcase their own interpretation of the ever-evolving cuisine championed by the Foundation’s namesake. Thanks to Resident, you can now experience this landmark by hosting your own event with a Resident chef. The space is ideal for corporate events and larger personal celebrations.
